Just One Drop Will Kill You...

Hey there people of the internet! Today, I thought I thought I would talk to you about a book I recently read and enjoyed sooooo much that I read in a day and a half. 

The book is called 'THE RAIN' by Virginia Bergin. 

It's about a girl called Ruby and her story of what happened when the deadly, dreaded rain came. At the beginning of the book, she is living the life; partying with her mates and she also now has a dream boyfriend but just as soon as things look like they are great, the worst comes instantly! She's at a party with all of her mates including her boyfriend when immediately, her friends parent's are rushing everyone into the house panicking about how it will soon start raining. At first they think it's a joke, I mean the worst the rain can do is soak you...right? WRONG. This time the rain is so bad, you won't know what hit you. As she and Caspar (a.ka. the boyfriend) shiver in the kitchen of her mates house, it starts to rain. They turn on the radio to hear panicked voices – ‘It’s in the rain . . . it’s in the rain . . . ' 

Nobody was prepared for what was about to happen. At first, people didn't think; they got caught out in it, didn’t realize that you couldn’t drink water from the taps either. Even a drip of rain would infect your blood, and eat you from the inside out. Ruby knows she has to get to London to find her dad, but she just doesn’t know where to start . . . After rescuing all the neighbourhood dogs, Ruby sets off on a journey that will take her the length of the country – surviving in the only way she knows how. Read the book to find out more!

I thought this book had a very gripping plot with very interesting and exciting characters. There are things that come as the biggest shocks ever. There is a lot of mystery in the book and among all the different characters, there is a lot of trust put in each other. There is even a bit of romance. There are times in this book where I wanted to cry because of how sad it was but there were also times when I was like cheering, I guess for the characters. I would definitely read this book, I absolutely loved it!

I can't wait for the sequel to this book; 'THE STORM' to come out, I am super excited! I have so many questions I want to know about the what will happen next, for example does Ruby's dad and brother come back for her? Will she ever see Darius Spratt again? etc, etc....

Sony Headphones Review

Hello! Hows it going? Today, I am here with another review. These Sonny headphones are just AMAZING! I use them everyday especially during my long journeys to and from school. They are comfortable and look cute! 

So,  I am going to start with the facts! These headphones come with a manul which I didn't even open yet and I lost now (why I don't have a picture of the manual) . There is also a red mark on the right ear(side thing?). 

However,  eventhough these headphones are great. The inner ear bit is just not up to standard. Compared to the the headphones they are just ugly.

Cultural Influences | S.A

This post lets you peek into my home culture, this doesn't necessarily mean that us as a family follow this tradition. According to tradition, beds are the most important piece of furniture in the guest reception as it is believed to be more comfortable than sofas. In the Arab traditions, you are obligated to treat your guest as if they were part of the family. I know, that everyone treats their guests well but Arabs really go over the top. ~so back to the point~ so, they keep fancy looking beds in their living rooms and of course, this means that expensive sheets are going to be bought. The sheets are expensive as they are bought abroad and they are mostly hand made.

so, I was talking to my aunt the other day and as we talked, this topic was mentioned. turns out, she makes the sheets at home. I was really curious to see what she made. To my surprise, she got out these amazingly done floral patterns and i just had to share them with you today. 

when i was taking these photos, she said that i was looking at them inside out and i replied with a "ohhh they look good both ways" :p

She only uses thread and a needle to make these patterns.

I know that this is a very stereotypical thing. As it is expected that all girls must know how to sew and I am against stereotypes but this is an exception as she chose to do this a hobby in her free time.

Once Upon A Time…

We are going to go over some awesome books that we read over time. Books that we thought are worth sharing however I do know that there is more books out there (obviously how ignorant am I?) so opinions may differ.  

Honestly, I don’t even know what genres of books I like. I just read what I read and like what I like. I get asked this question a lot… what kind of books do you like? And I always answer with adventure! Just because I don’t know what else to say. I also feel like adventure is a really common genre and many people like it so yeah.

This post is going to feature these books and more:

Girl, Missing by Sophie McKenzie

Lauren is adopted and keen to find out about her past. But when she discovers she may have been snatched from an American family as a baby, her life suddenly feels fake! Why will no one answer her questions? How can she find her biological mum and dad? And are her adoptive parents really responsible for kidnapping her? Lauren runs away from her family to find out the truth, but her journey takes her into more and more danger - as she discovers that the people who abducted her are prepared to do anything to keep her silent…

Fast-paced and thrilling throughout Sophie McKenzie’s Girl, Missing is totally addictive with a fascinating plot, interesting characters and an adorable romance. I would recommend reading it as soon as possible.

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli

I was inspired to do many things after reading this book. Star girl simply teaches you that being different is not bad at all in fact people should respect you for being who you are. Unfortunately, mica high turned against star girl and failed to understand her point of view. The ending was heart-breaking, I wanted LEO to choose star girl over “them”. Without giving the book away star girl is the kindest most thoughtful girl but her only trouble is that people don’t understand that. Changing was not an option.

I would recommend this book to anyone, any age, any gender. By looking at it people say that it is too girly but would knowing that the narrator is a boy change their minds?

This is the first book that I completed reading in a really long time.

Trouble by Bali Rai

This book stood out to me because I can relate to the story and characters. The book divides into two sections the first features Grace as the narrator and the second features another character as the narrator (Dean).  Without spoiling the book… it’s about a group of friends at school and they are tired of eating late lunch so they think of a plan. Will they get away with it? - Grace. Dean just wants to earn a bit of extra cash but it all goes wrong – Dean.

Bali Rai actually came to our school and I was lucky enough to chat with him and he signed my book. He said “when I write,  I don’t give it a second thought, I just write” well… Something along those lines. ~Back to the point~ this actually makes him different from other authors because he is not afraid to speak his mind.
At the back of the book it says 10+ but I would recommend it for older readers.

The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan

The Hobbit by  J.R.R. TOLKIEN 

The dwarfs lost their gold many years ago and want to get it back. Gandalf (the wizard) is helping them and decides that it is a good idea to bring Bilbo Baggins along the journey. 

The Hobbit was recommended to me by a teacher actually,  and i am not going to lie I don’t think that I was your easy read but it was really, interesting book. As a child people always recommend babyish books that I never actually liked. Therefore I would recommend the hobbit for young readers that are tired of reading babyish books.

The Hobbit: After reading The Hobbit, I decided to buy the movie. I really did enjoy the movie actually. Then I decided to buy The Lord Of The Rings because I really enjoyed The Hobbit so I thought that reading another book by the same author might be nice and it was!

What’s next: For my birthday my best friend got me the hunger games, which I am looking forward to reading. I have seen the movie and it was really good so i am expecting  the book to be even better. 

  

Three books waiting to be finished but I just can't get around to finishing them.  It is not the case that I don’t like these books. I really like the books and I am half way through most so that’s something to be proud of? 

After reading so many books i realised that I might be able to write one myself. I’ve seen many average people writing books and actually publish them. People like YouTubers (again my laptop doesn’t recognise the word “YouTubers”). So, I know that I want to write a book someday but I don’t really know what it is going to be about. Maybe pirates (I just felt like typing that, don’t know why but just did).

I love reading but in a certain period of time I gave up on it because I was convincing myself that I don’t have time (you can always make time or just don’t waste it).

Perfumes To Die For | Reviews

I thought since Valentine’s day is coming up I would do something for it to help you men out there so today I will be reviewing 4 perfumes: Outspoken Intense by Fergie, Pandora Box Eau de Parfum, Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne and Glow in the Dark by J-LO. They are all beautiful smelling perfumes and I would recommend you get them. These perfumes are the perfect gift for your someone special for this Valentine’s Day!

Outspoken Intense by Fergie

I am quite picky when it comes to fragrances, but I must say... Avon has outdone themselves with this one. I absolutely LOVE this fragrance! It smells so good, and the fragrance lasts. I am always getting compliments on it when I wear it! A favourite for sure. It smells so beautiful. It's JUST PERFECT! There is something very mysterious about this fragrance that I can't quite put my fingers on, but I love it. The packaging is nice and I love the bottle; it looks elegant and expensive.

Pandora Box Eau de Parfum

This perfume smells as fresh as a daisy. It’s the perfect scent for a night out with the girls. The smell stays on all night. It’s probably one of my most favourite perfumes I have ever had. The perfume comes in a pink box with the name of the perfume on top of it. It looks amazing, the bottle itself is amazing and most importantly it smells AMAZING! What more could you want?

Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne

ONE WORD: - Magnificent! Just...utterly....MAGNIFICENT!!! It has a unique smell that is indescribable. It comes in a purple, round tub. I love the fact that the perfume bottle is round; it’s different which is good. I would definitely recommend this scent for all the girls out there who are getting ready to go to a party; this scent would definitely finish off your outfit. This perfume stands out from the rest. Get it while you still can!

Glow in the Dark by JLO

You can spend hundreds of pounds on a classic perfume and get zero compliments. Spend ten bucks on something like Glow after Dark and everyone loves it. I think it's actually pretty good for the price range and, obviously, it's a crowd pleaser. Out of ALL her perfumes, this one is the one I keep repurchasing. What I like most about this one is that it doesn't smell like ANYTHING else on the market! It’s very dark, sweet, and mysterious! I love the dry down as well. Every time I wear this, I just feel like I'm in the spotlight or something. The staying power is also very very good (all of her perfumes have good staying power).
